Not the usual recipe you see in cookbooks. I'm attempting to make my own version of Million Dollar Cake from Gondolier restaurant here in our area (Sevierville/Gatlinburg). This is my favorite cake from there. I know it's probably from Sysco or PFG or some other supplier but it's really good. Their cake is huge, layered. Bottom layer is chocolate cake, then a layer of cheesecake, very thin layer of cake (tiramisu type cake), chocolate cheese cake, topped with ganache/icing and chocolate curls and it's encased around the edges in the tiramisu type cake.

My version:

Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate cake (made as directed)
Duncan Hines Yellow cake mix - butter recipe (made as directed)
Regular cheesecake
Chocolate cheesecake

Cheesecake:

16 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
2 eggs
3/4 c sugar
2 tsp vanilla

Chocolate cheesecake:

16 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
2 eggs
3/4 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c cocoa powder

Mix cheesecakes as directed, bake at 350 (preheated oven) for 25 min.

I baked all of the cakes & cheesecakes in 8.5" pans (cakes - 4 pans) and split the cheesecake filling between 2 pans for each flavor. (no crust)

Trim the top off the chocolate cakes. Cut yellow cakes in 2 layers (preferably thin layer for placing between cheesecakes). Layer chocolate cake on bottom, regular cheesecake, yellow cake, chocolate cheesecake, then top with icing or ganache. I'm trying Dark Chocolate icing. I might mix in a little cool whip to make it a little more fluffy and light.

I'll let you know how it tastes. Experiments are fun!

It's sounds good and I'm anxious to hear how it turns out.  It sounds very expensive to make to me. I love cheesecake but don't make it because they aren't cheap.  That's a lot of cream cheese.

Didn't use the dark chocolate icing. Way too rich. (yes that came from me, the chocoholic lol) Decided to ice one with Duncan Hines Chocolate Buttercream icing. The second one was covered in chocolate ganache. I think next time I'll do an entire cheesecake for each cheesecake layer instead of doing half a layer. Didn't try the one with store bought icing yet. Had that one left over. The one covered in ganache went fast and it was good. Best thing about it is it actually reminded me of the cake offered at Gondolier! Yay! So now I can make my own. Definitely rich but oh so tasty!

Sorry the pic is blurry. Taken from my phone. If it needs resized, I can do that.
